I love taking pictures. Always have. I had a crappy little point and shoot camera for years, upgraded to an SLR, then went digital point and shoot until I got a DSLR for Christmas one year. Have had that camera ever since. It’s my other baby.
One of the downfalls of always being busy is that I never get the opportunity to take pictures like I used to. Just tour around in a random city all day long taking pictures of the buildings, people, animals, art, etc. It’s a rare moment for me. So I used my trip to Florida to help spark that passion again.
During the trip Kairi and I went to Fort Desoto. It’s this massive park close to St. Pete Beach. I used to go there all of the time. They have camp grounds, bike paths, kayaking, hiking, etc. It’s where I fell in love with Kayaking. So the park has special meaning to me, and I wanted to share that with my daughter.
With my camera all charged up we headed out there first thing in the morning. Now, before I continue, I have to say my kid gets bored in seconds. We get in the car to drive around to the local grocery store, not even two blocks away, and she’s bored. I knew this was not going to be any different. But we made a deal, that she gets her beach time, and I get my camera time.
Here are some of the photos I took while at the park:
Some of my other photos that I’ve taken throughout the years are here (insert link). More will be posted once I get my old computer up and running again.
I’m learning about more things that I’m passionate about. Throughout the year I’ll be experimenting with some of them, and writing about them. What about you? What are you passionate about?
