Thanksgiving has come and gone. So has black Friday and cyber Monday. I’ve already been bombarded with questions on what my daughter wants for Christmas. Or even what I want for Christmas. I get asked, all of the time, what to get someone who works out for Christmas or even their birthday.
So here’s a little list on helpful tips and suggestions on what to get the athlete/fitfreak in your life:
1 – Blender Bottles
Blender Bottles have been around forever! And most likely you’ve seen avid gym goers and professional athletes using them. They’re amazing. I think I have about 20 of them. They come in a huge array of colors and you can mix and match the lids. I do it all of the time. The other cool part. Is if you go to Blenderbottle.com they have a color of the month club with free shipping. It’s $9.99 a month. The price of a blender bottle, depending on the size, is from $7-$13. Oh and they just released the 32oz. blender bottle. You can get them online through Blenderbottle.com or amazon. Or you can go to stores like GNC and Target.
*Helpful Tip: One year I gave Blender Bottles as gifts to my friends. In it I included a GNC or Vitamin Shoppe gift card and some samples of protein, preworkout, and BCAAs. It was a lot to stuff into the Blender Bottle but my friends loved it.
My friends know, I’m obsessed with my Garmin Vivoactive. It’s an awesome tool for anyone into fitness. It tracks your steps, sleep, training, heart rate (if you get the chest strap), miles, GPS, and way more. Plus you can add apps to it. Now, it’s not like the Apple Watch. But it’s still effective and works really well. The Vivoactive is roughly $150. Depending on where you look. Their new Vivoactive HR is $250. You can purchase these on Amazon or head over to Best Buy. Most places carry these.
3 – Wireless Headphones
I recently purchased these for myself. I got tired of running my arm into the wire of my headphones while training at the gym. The pair I got is the Philips SHB5850. They were $43 at Target. But there are so many pairs of wireless headphones now. The prices vary from $30-$300. And you can purchase them anywhere.
4 – Jaxx Bag
Meal prep is vital for destroying your goals. Last year, a good friend of mine got me a Jaxx bag. And I LOVED IT!!! Plus she put my name on it and a funny hash tag that my closest friends only get the meaning of. Since Jaxx came out with the initial bag, they have since come out with more. Now they have a duffel bag and a larger lunch bag. They come in different colors, and trust me, they are super easy to clean out. Depending on the size, depends on the price. The cheapest being $40 and the most expensive being $90. All of them come with storage containers that are really good! And they offer different colors.
Now. Before I being with this one. Not everyone is a massive planner nerd like myself. But since this is one of my favorite things, you have to suffer and read this. Or skip ahead. Your choice. Anyway! I love Plum Paper Planners. I have two, plus their address book (yes, people still own address books). The two planners I have, are both customized to what I need. Well, to a point. Every page gets used and that’s what matters. With PPP I’m able to change the headers for the planner. I submit what headers I want, and they plug them in for me. So no more wasting time writing what goes to what. Every time I go on their site I see something new. Prices vary. The base price of a planner is $42. Depending on size of course. You can always get interchangeable covers, add more pages, get a different layout, etc.
Another awesome planner is the Inkwell Press Planner. I had that one as well, but for me PPP is my favorite.
6- Rumble Bros Boxing
Rumble Bros is one of my favorite boxing companies. I love the shirts, (plus they’re crazy comfortable) and I love the handwraps. I also love their gloves, which are next on my list to purchase once I finish destroying my current pair. They sell to both men and women. And don’t worry ladies, you won’t see much pink. Prices vary depending on what you’re looking for.
7- BattleAx Boutique –
I love this little etsy shop! Last year for some friends I got them items from here. It’s fitness jewelry! Well, fitness and other things. Boxing, Running, Lifting, Viking, Riding (motorcycles), it’s awesome! And reasonable in price. Prices vary from $6 - $10.
A friend of mine created Rebellia for women. It’s custom clothing for fit chicks. And it’s incredible! If you’re a fit chick, you know how horrible it is just trying to find clothes that fit. Well, enter Rebellia! Once a website is up and running, I’ll be sure to share on my social media accounts. Until then, go to the link and check out her info through her Indiegogo campaign.
9- Gym memberships
Now this is going more into the stalker category. But one of the best gifts I got, was a full year gym membership to my gym. Actually it was two for the price of one. Prices vary depending on the gym. Some rates are $10 a month, some are $250. Depends on where they go.
10 – Gift cards
When in doubt go the gift card route. It can be one major one, or a couple smaller ones. It really depends on what you can afford. But gift cards can be a huge help. I always do GNC, Vitamin Shoppe, Dick’s Sporting Goods, or Amazon. There is also Lululemon, UA, Nike, Reebok, and other specialty stores.
These are just some things that can help you on your way to getting an awesome gift for the fit person in your life. If you have any more suggestions, please be sure to comment below!
