Lately I've been busy. Working on my Precision Nutrition certification. Studying for my ISSA personal trainer certification (makes cert number two for personal training). Plus random other stuff that comes along.
I’m not one to stand by the way side and let things happen. I don’t have pockets lined with cash. I don’t even have a following that’s big enough to make a real difference. But that’s what I’ve always wanted to do. Make a difference. That’s how this whole thing started. The want to actually make a difference. Not just in fitness or in someone’s life. But make a true difference in the world.
…. Or as others like to call it Valentine’s Day.
I took a lot of time for some self reflection this past week.
Especially regarding my website. I've downgraded my site significantly and cleared stuff off my schedule. No matter how much work I put into my site, even on a consistent basis, it just wasn't generating any kind of ROI (return of investment). I've invested a lot into my site. A lot more than I should have. And no matter how hard I tried, nothing happened.
I love taking pictures. Always have. I had a crappy little point and shoot camera for years, upgraded to an SLR, then went digital point and shoot until I got a DSLR for Christmas one year. Have had that camera ever since. It’s my other baby.
I feel that taking a break from social media is required every now and then. Especially if you want to keep your sanity. The last time I took a break, was for a year. Believe me, it was worth it. It’s a little hard to do it now though. The bulk of the people who read my articles are from either Facebook or Instagram. So quitting social media, really isn’t the smart choice.
